New rule for microbreweries

Sweden will, from June 2025, allow microbreweries to sell drinks on-site to visitors. This is a relaxation of the strict rules on alcohol sales which have been in place since 1955.

The visitors must be on a paid tour before purchasing, and there are restrictions on how much you may purchase, in the case of beer a maximum of 3 litres per person. The age limit for purchasing beer in Sweden is 20 years of age.

Smedsbo Slott will of course try this new sales route! Our wares will be on offer to visitors at our tastings, and during the three days of Slånkvicku when we are open to the public.
