Aktiebolaget Centralbryggeriet in Linköping is a microbrewery located on the Östergötland plain. We are a local brewery that has a strong focus on the environment and craftsmanship in our manufacturing processes. In our newly built premises in Tallboda, Linköping, we brew beer in a craft way where large parts of the brewing process are handled by our brewers by hand.

Central Brewery's journey began back in 2008 when Viktor Hansen, one of the founders of the brewery, had a near religious epiphany and called his mother to tell her he was going to be a brewmaster.
Said and done, the brewery technician training programme in Ludvika became the first step and Viktor went out with big dreams despite being informed early on that if he were to start a brewery it would cost 10 million or 10 years...

He therefore shares his dreams with his friend Kenny, who likes the idea of starting a brewery, but lacks some production experience. Torbjörn Hansen, Viktor's father, is then brought in as a third piece of the puzzle in what would become the founding trio of Aktiebolaget Centralbryggeriet in Linköping.

A journey of many home brews and recipe mistakes eventually led to the purchase of a brewhouse and the start of production in February 2014. Three months later came the historic release of Centralbryggeriet's first two beers at Systembolaget. On 2 May at 10:00 2014, Folkes Unfiltered Lager and Folkes Pale Ale were premiered, 15 minutes later they were sold out and the dream of having their own brewery and a beer that Linköping residents could call their own was now a reality.
