Ego Distillers in Gothenburg is the city's first combined distillery, spirits bar and restaurant. Opened at the end of 2024 in a former engine room in Gamlestaden's factories, it has quickly become a unique meeting place for food, drink and culture. The venue has an industrial but stylish environment where guests can experience both the craftsmanship behind the production of spirits and enjoy creative cocktails and small dishes with a focus on local ingredients. Several different spirits are produced on site, including gin, vodka, aquavit and absinthe, with their own Ego Gin often taking centre stage.

In addition to bar and restaurant activities, Ego Distillers offers a wide range of activities and experiences. Guests can go on guided tours of the distillery, take part in spirit tastings, immerse themselves in the history of gin during a special gin experience, or attend a cocktail school where you can learn to mix balanced drinks yourself. The place is also popular for after work on Thursdays to Saturdays, often with music such as hip hop, soul or electronic from vinyl players to enhance the atmosphere.

From 6 September 2025, Ego Distillers will take it a step further by offering yard sales, meaning that visitors can buy their home-made spirits to take home after their visit.

Located on Väverigatan in Gamlestaden, Ego Distillers is open from Thursday to Saturday, with late nights as standard. The combination of industrial atmosphere, flavoursome drinks, live music and educational activities makes it a concept that stands out on the Gothenburg entertainment and restaurant map.
