In Skärstadalen, also known as Äppledalen, on the eastern slopes of Lake Vättern, fruit has been grown since the 1930s. Rudenstam's Bär & Frukt is located here in Äppledalen. Thanks to the unique climate and the location of the farmland, the area is known as "Småland's Tuscany" and "Äppledalen". The deep Lake Vättern warms up slowly and thus slows down the spring, while retaining the summer heat into the autumn before it cools down. This means that the climate is stable and favourable for fruit growing.
Rudu Ödegård has been growing fruit since 1942. Today, the fifth generation of the Rudenstam family works on the farm.
