Österlen wine

Österlen is sometimes called Sweden's Provence. This got us thinking about whether wine could be grown in our latitudes.
Hagestad Mossaväg 36, Löderup

In Germany, vines had been developed for our climate, so in 2002 Claes Olsson and Thorsten Persson started the company Österlenvin HB.

We have since planted 2500 vines (Rondo, Solaris, Souvenir Gris and Cab.Cortis) in the small village of Ekesåkra, which is located about 2 km from Sandhammaren, midway between Kåseberga and Skillinge.
On the first of July 2010, we introduced two red wines (Per Ols Blanning and Per Ols Röa) on the shelves of Systembolaget in Ystad, Tomelilla and Simrishamn.

In 2010 we only produced rosé wine (Per Ols Råsa) which was released at Systembolaget on 1 July 2011.
In 2014 we also started making white wine (Per Ols Vida) which we started selling in summer 2015.
The name of the wines comes from Persson and Olsson, as well as the Scanian spelling of Blandning- Röda- Rosa and Vita.
In 2020, Claes Olsson sold his share while Thorsten Persson remained as co-owner and winemaker.
In 2021, the new partner sold his share and today Österlenvin is owned by Thorsten and Ylva Persson
The wines are now called Österlenvins Vida and Österlenvins Råsa
