Ängöl

The brewery was founded in 2010 by Johan Håkansson, a homebrewer since 1993. With roots in Kalmar, the business began in a basement in Kattrumpan and has since grown into an established microbrewery.
Ängöl’s profile is characterized by classic beer styles with modern touches, always with a focus on high quality and clean flavors.
The business began in the historic cooperage on Ängö, where Nils Gustav Blomqvist and later his son Albert ran their business until 1968. Ängöl began production in the same premises a hundred years after the cooperage was founded, before moving in 2016 to larger premises on Polhemsgatan in Kalmar.
The current brewery has improved capacity and a prominent location along the access road, where the copper brewhouse greets visitors through large panoramic windows.
Ängöl is an active member of the Swedish Independent Small Breweries Association and collaborates with many other Swedish breweries. The brewery is constantly working on product development and offers a varied selection, available through Systembolaget and select restaurants.
