Bränneri i Åre began with a desire to capture the distinctive mountain landscape surrounding the small village of Vallbo, where founders Hanna Oleträ and Andy White live and work. After many years in the industry as sommeliers and bartenders, they chose to leave city life behind for a life closer to the mountains of Jämtland. It was nature itself that became their primary source of inspiration. During long days in the mountains, amidst the silence and the crisp air filled with the scents of pine, herbs, and mountain meadows, the idea was born to create a gin that conveys the essence of this place.
Today, they run a small-scale gin distillery in Åre, where every decision is guided by a clear and personal vision: to create gin with a distinct taste of Scandinavia. Their work is characterized by meticulousness and craftsmanship, from the selection of ingredients that reflect the character of the mountains to the development of recipes that capture nature’s aromas. Each batch is an expression of the place, distilled with respect for both ingredients and origin.
