Our Story
It’s 2011, and once a month, the kitchen at Dan-Magnus Svensson’s home in Karlskrona is taken over. The reason? It’s time to brew beer. Together with Magnus Karlsson and Mikael Lundell, he experiments with hops, malt, and the brewing process. And it works: two years later, the newly founded microbrewery Brygghus 19 launches its first craft beer.
Here we are today
“It’s an honor to be part of this project,” said Dan-Magnus in an interview at the launch of In Flames gin in the spring of 2024.
We probably don’t fully realize it ourselves, but the small brewery on Västra Kajen in Karlshamn is starting to make a big splash. We have the world’s best brewers, distillers, and above all, customers—without them, we’re nothing. On the schedule are festivals, events, launches, new beers, more gins, more liqueurs, new hires, and paternity leaves one after another, and somehow it just keeps getting more and more fun.
We’ve fought like crazy with heart and soul through an entire pandemic and are still battling a recession, but it feels like we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, and now it’s time to hit the gas. We started Brygghus 19 as the world’s most fun hobby, and even today we’re reminded every day of how incredibly much fun we have at work!
