Centralbryggeriet

Aktiebolaget Centralbryggeriet in Linköping is a microbrewery located on the Östergötland plain. We are a local brewery with a strong focus on the environment and craftsmanship in our production processes. In our newly built facilities in Tallboda, Linköping, we brew beer using traditional methods, with much of the brewing process handled by hand by our brewers.
Centralbryggeriet’s journey began as early as 2008 when Viktor Hansen, one of the brewery’s founders, had an almost religious epiphany and called his mother to tell her he was going to become a brewmaster.
No sooner said than done, the brewing technician program in Ludvika became the first step, and Viktor graduated with big dreams despite being told early on that if he were to start a brewery, it would cost 10 million or take 10 years...
He therefore shared his dreams with his friend Kenny, who liked the idea of starting a brewery, though they certainly lacked some production experience. Torbjörn Hansen, Viktor’s father, was then brought in as the third piece of the puzzle in what would become the founding trio of Aktiebolaget Centralbryggeriet in Linköping.
A journey marked by many homebrews and recipe mishaps eventually led to the purchase of brewing equipment and the start of production in February 2014. Three months later came the historic release of Centralbryggeriet’s first two beers at Systembolaget. On May 2, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., Folkes Unfiltered Lager and Folkes Pale Ale made their debut; 15 minutes later, they were sold out, and the dream of a brewery of their own and a beer that the people of Linköping could call their own was now a reality.
