Ego Distillers

Ego Distillers in Gothenburg is the city’s first combined distillery, spirits bar, and restaurant. It opened in late 2024 in a former machine room at the Gamlestaden factories and has quickly become a unique hub for food, drink, and culture. The venue features an industrial yet stylish setting where guests can experience both the craftsmanship behind spirits production and enjoy creative cocktails as well as small plates focused on local ingredients. Several different types of spirits are produced on-site, including gin, vodka, aquavit, and absinthe, with their own Ego Gin often taking center stage.
In addition to the bar and restaurant, Ego Distillers offers a wide range of activities and experiences. Guests can take guided tours of the distillery, participate in spirits tastings, delve into the history of gin during a special gin experience, or attend a cocktail class where they can learn to mix well-balanced drinks. The venue is also popular for after-work gatherings on Thursdays through Saturdays, often featuring music like hip-hop, soul, or electronic tracks played on vinyl to enhance the atmosphere.
Starting September 6, 2025, Ego Distillers is taking another step forward by offering on-site sales, meaning visitors can take their homemade spirits home after their visit.
Ego Distillers is located on Väverigatan in Gamlestaden and is open from Thursday to Saturday, with late nights as standard. The combination of an industrial atmosphere, flavorful drinks, live music, and educational activities makes it a concept that stands out on Gothenburg’s entertainment and restaurant scene.
