First Distillery

The distillery is located in a charming little red cottage right in front of Wenngarn Castle, just outside Sweden’s oldest town, Sigtuna. After a thousand years of history—from the first king to the first saint and the first coin—First Distillery has created First Gin!
As early as the 1800s, the cottage was used as a distillery, where the castle’s servants received part of their wages paid in spirits. In the 1900s, when Wenngarn’s heyday was over, the area paradoxically served as an institution to help those struggling with alcoholism. Over the past 10 years, Wenngarn has transformed into a thriving modern village community with cafes, shops, and restaurants. A perfect day trip between Stockholm and Uppsala.
In the heart of this historic site, First Distillery Sigtuna takes over and produces world-class gin. With a passion for craftsmanship and a desire to honor the past, we use organic ingredients and traditional distillation methods when creating our gin.
