Om High Coast Flavours
High Coast Flavours is a small-scale cidery located in Moliden within the beautiful High Coast World Heritage Site. We launched our business in 2020, and since then we have planted over 500 apple trees on our farm, featuring more than 30 different apple varieties.
Until we can harvest from our own trees, we pick apples in the local area, from people who have more apples than they can handle. We create a fantastic drink from what would otherwise have been thrown away.
Until our own trees bear a full harvest, we use apples from the region—fruit that would otherwise risk going to waste. In this way, local surplus is transformed into a flavorful and sustainable cider, where every bottle carries a story of nature, community, and care.
High Coast Flavours cider is always locally produced and completely natural. Just like a vintage wine, the flavor shifts from season to season, shaped by the weather, wind, and the availability of different apple varieties. It has a fresh, tart base note with a slight bitterness and an aroma that evokes memories of freshly picked, crisp apples.
All production is done by hand in small batches. In the fall, the apples are hand-picked, washed, crushed, and gently pressed. The fresh must is allowed to ferment slowly and is then aged for at least six months before being bottled in the spring. Carbonation forms naturally through the classic champagne method, resulting in an elegant cider with delicate bubbles, depth, and balance.
With a focus on sustainability and local responsibility, the bottles are also reused. High Coast Flavours combines tradition, craftsmanship, and the rhythm of nature in a cider that captures the pure, vibrant flavor of the High Coast.
