Österlenbryggarna is a family-owned brewery dating back to 1953, when Nils Persson began brewing low-alcohol beverages on his own. His determination and curiosity laid the foundation for the craftsmanship and passion that still define the business today. With an unbroken tradition of meticulous craftsmanship, Österlenbryggarna is today one of the few breweries in the country that still brews in the classic style—where time, taste, and attention to detail take the lead.
Over the years, the product range has expanded to meet customers’ desire for variety. The brewery’s own production is therefore complemented by carefully selected beverages that share the same focus on quality and care. The result is a broad and appealing range, where every product reflects respect for the genuine brewing tradition.
In 1996, Österlenbryggarna took the next major step and became one of Sweden’s first microbreweries when the draft beer brewery in Ystad opened. Here, the craft continues to evolve on a small scale, where experience meets a playful spirit of experimentation. Every beer brewed has its own character—shaped by both the Österlen landscape and the brewery’s history.
Today, every bottle still bears traces of the journey that began with Nils Persson’s light beer. Österlenbryggarna remains a family-run brewery where tradition, local commitment, and authentic craftsmanship come together in a taste experience that feels both timeless and vibrant.
