Virå Fattighus

Virå Fattighus is a small, intimate Swedish craft brewery located in Stavsjö, Södermanland. The brewery is housed in a historic industrial setting, occupying a former poorhouse dating back to 1876, which gives the location a distinct cultural-historical character. The business was founded in 2019 by a beer enthusiast who, after many years in completely different industries, chose to fully pursue his passion for beer brewing.
The brewery’s philosophy revolves around clean and well-balanced flavors, with a focus on quality and craftsmanship. Organic ingredients are used whenever possible and appropriate. Many of the beers have their roots in classic European beer traditions, and the selection ranges from light pilsners and ales to wheat beer, IPA, and stout.
Sales are primarily to restaurants and conference facilities in the local area, but it is also possible to purchase beer directly on-site or via the brewery’s online shop. The lineup consists of a number of regular beers where the recipes have been developed with great care for balance and quality. This includes both the brewery’s own branded beers and special brews inspired by collaborations, such as the smoky beer in the “Mannen i CP-trucken” series.
